Rector Bahçekapılı Supports Our Teams Competing in Teknofest 2023 Ankara

Yalova University played a pivotal role in fostering national technological advancements at TEKNOFEST 2023, held at Ankara Etimesgut Airport from August 30 to September 3. Our university actively participated in this event, organized by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, and welcomed visitors at its exhibition booth.

During his visit to the Yalova University booth at TEKNOFEST 2023, our University Rector, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Bahçekapılı, expressed his gratitude to Direnç Özdemir, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yalova OIZ, and Yasin Gök, General Manager of Yalova Technopark, for their support. Rector Bahçekapılı emphasized the significance of sharing the same platform with Yalova OIZ and Technopark and highlighted the collaborative efforts to promote national technology development.

The projects presented by Yalova University teams at TEKNOFEST garnered substantial attention. In the "Initiative Competition" category, the Transportation Engineers team reached the finals among the top 16 teams with their integrated public transportation platform project. This innovative project aims to provide convenient access to public transportation information across various cities in Turkey by integrating different public transportation systems into a single software solution.

The Transportation Engineers team, formed by our research assistants İsmail Adalıoğlu, Gürcan Sarısoy, and Ayşe Polat, achieved a spot among the 16 finalists in the Transportation and Mobility field with this project. Further information about the project can be found at www.akilliulasim.com.

Another team representing Yalova University, the ATMACA TEAM, achieved a remarkable milestone in TEKNOFEST 2023's Venture Competition, securing a place among the 17 finalist teams in the Agricultural Technologies category. The ATMACA TEAM is dedicated to developing automation kits and remote monitoring applications for soilless and hydroponic greenhouses, with the aim of conserving water and enhancing agricultural productivity. The team comprises Yalova University Electrical and Electronics Engineering students Burak Mutluer and Atahan Efe, Erva Nazlı Tüccar from Industrial Engineering, and Mehmet Yazıcıoğlu from Energy Systems Engineering.

The ATMACA TEAM had previously represented our university in the TEKNOFEST Environment and Energy Technologies competition, where they secured the 10th position and received recognition. This year, as TEKNOFEST finalists once again, the ATMACA TEAM continues to make valuable contributions to the agricultural technology sector with their innovative work.
